PAINTING
Since moving to New Mexico in 1986, I have continued writing, but, after opening our gallery to exhibit my husband’s and others’ paintings in 1988, I have been involved in all activities related to the running of the gallery. In 1991, I returned to drawing and painting, a passion I had reserved for others, and now also make my living (and my life) painting. I am currently represented in our gallery here in Truchas: the Cardona-Hine Gallery, and at Rick Moore Fine Art in Naples, Fl. I have had two one-woman shows at our gallery, two at The Lynn Gallery, also in Truchas, one at the Evening Star Gallery in Las Cruces, NM, and have been in group shows at the Santa Fe Art Institute, Voorhees-Sperry Gallery in New Orleans, LA, Rick Moore Fine Art, Naples, Fl., University of Northern Colorado, Greeley, CO, the Manitou Gallery, Santa Fe, NM, and University of Indiana, Fort Wayne, IN. Publications about my painting/ include: Millenium Guide, 1999, and again in 2000, and New Mexico Landscapes, 2006. My paintings have focussed on landscape with a human presence in the form of the buildings we use and live in. In 1991, I did a series based on the figure, entitled Woman Alone. I am currently painting the figure both impressionistically and more abstractly. Work can be seen on our gallery website: www.cardonahinegallery.com.
